Celebrating Country

Merri Creek Murnong Festival

A magic day on the Merri Creek.

So heartening to be part of this celebration of Country and Culture, 2018 was the festival's tenth year. Similarly the Lake Bolac Eel festival has past the ten year milestone.

At its heart is a little plant with a big story - the Murnong or Yam Daisy - Microseris lanceolate. A once staple food for Aboriginal people of Southeast Australia.
